Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Medicare Advantage plans bundle your hospital coverage (Part A) and medical coverage (Part B) into a single plan — and often include prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, hearing, and extras like fitness memberships or over-the-counter allowances that Original Medicare doesn't offer on its own. Depending on where you live, you may have several plan options to choose from, each with its own network, costs, and added benefits.

Because every plan is a little different, picking the right one comes down to matching your specific doctors, prescriptions, and budget against what's actually available in your area. Harvey compares options from multiple carriers side by side so you're choosing based on what genuinely fits your life — not just the plan with the flashiest brochure.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Original Medicare covers a lot, but it doesn't cover everything — Medigap plans are designed to fill in that roughly 20% gap left behind, including things like coinsurance, copayments, and hospital costs beyond what Part A covers. Plans are standardized by letter (like Plan G or Plan N), so the coverage for each letter is the same no matter which insurance company sells it — the difference comes down to price and customer service.

The biggest advantage is freedom: with a Medigap plan, you can see any doctor or specialist across the country who accepts Medicare, with no networks and no referrals needed. Harvey walks through what each plan letter actually covers and compares pricing across carriers, since the same coverage can vary quite a bit in cost depending on the company.

Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)

If you're enrolled in Original Medicare or a Medigap plan, you'll likely need a standalone Part D plan to help cover your prescriptions — Medicare Advantage plans often build this in already. Each Part D plan has its own list of covered medications (called a formulary) and pricing tiers, which means the same prescription can cost very differently depending on the plan you're on.

Since formularies and pricing can change every year, staying on the "right" plan isn't a one-time decision — it's worth revisiting annually. Harvey reviews your actual medication list against what's available each year to help make sure you're not overpaying simply because your plan changed without you noticing.

Dental & Vision Plans

Original Medicare generally doesn't cover routine dental cleanings, eye exams, glasses, or hearing aids — which catches a lot of people off guard. Standalone dental and vision plans are built to fill exactly that gap, covering things like cleanings, fillings, annual eye exams, and eyewear, often at a modest monthly cost.

These plans make the most sense either as a standalone add-on if you're on Original Medicare or a Medigap plan, or as a supplement if your current Medicare Advantage plan's dental/vision allowance isn't stretching far enough for your needs. Harvey can help you figure out which situation applies to you.

Life & Final Expense Insurance

Final expense costs — funeral services, burial or cremation, outstanding medical bills — can add up quickly and often land on family members at an already difficult time. Life and final expense policies are designed specifically to cover those costs, so your loved ones aren't left scrambling to pay out of pocket or make hard decisions under pressure.

Options range from traditional whole life policies to guaranteed-issue coverage that doesn't require a medical exam or health questions, which can be a good fit depending on your age and health history. Harvey can help you find a policy that fits your budget and gives your family one less thing to worry about.

Long Term Care

Medicare covers only limited, short-term skilled nursing care — it was never designed to cover the ongoing custodial care many people eventually need, whether that's help at home, in an assisted living facility, or in a nursing home. Long term care coverage is built to help with exactly that kind of extended care.

Without a plan in place, the cost of long term care can be significant enough to work through a lifetime of savings fairly quickly. Harvey can walk through what coverage options look like and how planning ahead now can help protect what you've built.

Ancillary Products

In addition to Medicare and Medigap coverage, Harvey also offers a range of ancillary insurance products that pay a cash benefit directly to you — money you can use however you need it, whether that's covering deductibles, lost income, travel to appointments, or everyday bills. These plans include:

  • Cancer Insurance — a lump-sum benefit paid directly to you upon a covered cancer diagnosis

  • Heart Attack & Stroke Insurance — a lump-sum benefit paid directly to you if you experience a covered heart attack or stroke

  • Hospital Indemnity Insurance — a fixed daily cash benefit you receive for each day you're hospitalized

Because these benefits are paid directly to you rather than a provider, they're a flexible way to fill in the financial gaps that Medicare and supplement plans don't cover. Harvey can help you decide which of these makes sense alongside your current coverage.

Wealth Services

In addition to Medicare and insurance coverage, Harvey also offers guidance on wealth-related strategies to help you protect and grow what you've built for retirement. These include:

  • Fixed Index Annuities (FIA) — an insurance-based product offering principal protection with growth potential tied to a market index, without directly investing in the market

  • 401k Rollovers — guidance on moving retirement funds from an old employer plan into a new account, handled correctly to help you avoid unnecessary taxes or penalties

Harvey can walk through whether either of these makes sense as part of your broader retirement picture.
